Our arrowroot  powder is a natural root starch powder that is white and very light. The plant is obtained from the tropical roots of Maranta arundinacea, It is commonly used as a substitute for corn starch, which is highly processed and difficult to obtain in non-GMO varieties.
 
Arrowroot powder can be used as a thickener in tasty foods and is known for its use in fruit icings and clear jellies. Because Arrowroot  powder thickens at lower temperatures than other plant starches, it is less likely to burn and even thicken in the presence of citrus fruits, making it a preferred thickener for fruit coatings. Arrowroot powder can also be used as the base of some personal care formulas and is the main ingredient in most body powders.
