Eupatorium perfoliatum grows in wet soils in the eastern half of NA Boneset is a perennial in the Asteraceae family and has been used for its beneficial properties by Native Americans for generations. Astringent and bitter, the dried aerial portions of the boneset herb can be prepared as an extract, or as a warm or cold infusion. The tea is very bitter.
